‘MORA’ moving away from Sri Lanka: heavy rains to reduce

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The cyclonic storm ‘MORA’ is expected to enter Bangladesh and weaken today (30), Met. Department said.

Possibility of heavy rains and strong winds will reduce by tomorrow but, under its influence cloudy skies, windy and showery conditions are expected over the country today, it said.

Very strong winds of about 80 kmph can be expected over the country (These windy conditions are especially expected over the western slope of the central hills) and surrounding sea areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Central provinces.

Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places (Particularly in the Western slope of the central hills).

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Northern and North-central provinces.
