Lankan arrested in India without travel documents

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A Sri Lankan has been arrested in India without travel documents, the Times of India reported.

A day after Kullu police had arrested a Swiss national with drugs, two foreign nationals — one woman from Turkey and a man from Sri Lanka — were arrested with 539 LSD papers near Manikaran in Parbati valley on Thursday. The Sri Lankan national could not produce travel documents.

Police said that both the accused were coming on foot from Choj village towards Manikaran when they were stopped for checking by a police patrol party.

“The accused has been identified as Umidashen, a Sri Lankan national, who was without travel documents, and a Turkish woman who was with him. They are being produced before a local court,” police said.
