Navy recovers 9.2 kg of Kerala Cannabis: Suspect apprehended

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – On receipt of information to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with officials of the Mannar Police, during a raid carried out in Thulkuduirippu, Talaimannar yesterday (21), nabbed a suspect with 505 g of Kerala Cannabis. Along with the suspect a motorbike used for cannabis transferring, was also taken into custody.

Upon further questioning into the incident, the suspect revealed of another haul of Kerala Cannabis concealed in a scrub at the village of JRS, Talaimannar. Following the information, the naval and Police personnel carried out a search and managed to recover 8.720 kg of Kerala Cannabis. The apprehended person together with the stock of cannabis was handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal action.
