“Government committed to good governance principals” – President Maithripala

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena states that the present government is committed to adhere to good governance principals amidst challenging circumstances.

President Sirisena speaking at an event held in Battaramulla said the government has opted for a pragmatic approach to the concept and urged the coalition partners to follow the good governance principals at all times.

The President noted that a majority have embraced the concept with pride however said ‘Yahapalanaya’ concept has been ridiculed by some others in the government.

The Head of State also highlighted on the importance “Buddhist Ideals of Good Governance” and called on all parties to support the government to implement the concept of good governance in the society.

President Maithripala Sirisena stated that the implementation of the good governance concept should help to resolve several issues in the society at present.
