Special traffic plan in Colombo today

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – 6,000 policemen have been deployed to ensure security during the travels of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A special traffic plan will be in place today as well.

The road adjacent to Taj Samudhra up to the Galleface Roundabout, Colpetty Junction, Liberty Junction and Pittala Junction will be closed from 9.00am.

Additionally, the Public Library Roundabout, Glass House Roundabout, Nanda Motors, Independence Square, Independence Mawatha, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Maitland Place Junction and Bauddhaloka Mawatha entering BMICH will be completely closed during this timeframe.

Another phase of the traffic plan will be implemented at 10.50am.

Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Jawatta Road entered from the Jawatta Junction, Keppetipola Mawatha and the road adjacent to the Police Field Force Headquarters will be closed. Police said motorists will not be able to access these roads during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit.
