UDA employees to cycle to work every Friday

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has decided to introduce a special programme for its employees to report to work once a week on bicycles.

According to the UDA, the programme will be launched to mark ‘The World Cities Day’ which falls on Monday, 31st of October.

Thereby, UDA employees will be required to report to work every Friday using bicycles.

The UDA said its employees will be facilitated with all necessary arrangements to report to work on a bicycle, including finances to purchase bicycles and allocated space to safely park the bicycles.

The inauguration of the “Cycle Friday – Come to work by bicycle” programme will be held under the patronage of Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.

The event will be held at the Urban Development and Housing Ministry in Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla on Friday, 4th November.
