New Zealand Announce Squad For T20 World Cup 2022

(UTV | NEW ZEALAND) – New Zealand has announced a 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The team will be led by Kane Williamson in this tournament, while 35-year-old Martin Guptill has also been made a part of this team which will play its 7th T20 World Cup.

Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell have been included in the Kiwi squad as new faces. New Zealand’s team had made it to the final in the last World Cup, but it was defeated by Australia. Adam Milne has managed to make his place in the team, while Devon Conway has again been reaffirmed by New Zealand. Kyle Jamieson, who played for New Zealand in the last T20 World Cup, could not make it to this team as he is battling a back injury. Apart from Kyle, Todd Astle and Tim Seifert also missed out on a place in this team.

In the T20 World Cup 2022, the New Zealand team has to play the first match against the defending champions Australia and this match will be played on 22 October at the SCG. New Zealand’s team has been placed in Group A this time. Before the T20 World Cup 2022, the New Zealand team will take part in the tri-series which will start in Christchurch from 7 October. Apart from New Zealand, the team of Pakistan and Bangladesh will participate in this tri-series. Through this tri-series, New Zealand will test its preparations and after that it will leave for Australia.
