(UTV | COLOMBO) – President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe in a statement conveyed “Deepest condolences to the Royal Family, Government & people of the UK on the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II Head of the Commonwealth & Queen of Ceylon 1952-72.”
Queen Elizabeth II had died aged 96 after being the British Monarch for over 70 years. The Buckingham Palace said, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
