(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Registrar General’s Department has revealed that the duplicate copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates it issues do not include a validity period.
The government said in a notice that there has been a noticeable increase in requests for duplicate copies to be certified as legitimate over the last six months.
According to the Department of the Registrar General, there is no validation time for the documents, and this information has been officially communicated to the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs, the Departments of Immigration and Emigration, and the Registration of Persons.
The Registrar General’s Government added that requests for revisions to duplicate birth, death, and marriage certificates that the department has issued are the only ones that can be made.
