Ratta arrested over a protest held in May

(UTV | COLOMBO) – YouTuber Rathindu Senaratne, better known as Ratta, has been arrested last evening.

He was arrested in relation to a protest held in Colombo, Fort on the 21st of May in violation of a Court order.

Ratta had visited the Colombo Crimes Division to record a statement in relation to the arrest of activist Pathum Kerner last evening (1).

An officer of the Special Police Unit of the Slave Island Police who arrived at the CCD had arrested Ratta.

Meanwhile, the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued an overseas travel ban on Ratta and another individual.

Police informed Court that the duo, wanted over a case related to illegal assembly in the Colombo, Fort Police Division, are a flight risk, and therefore sought an order preventing them from travelling overseas.
