Date set for Todd Field’s “TAR”

(UTV | UNITED STATES) – Filmmaker Todd Field made a stunning debut in 2001 with “In the Bedroom,” the story of a Maine family torn apart by a tragedy that debuted at Sundance and landed five Oscar nominations including Best Picture.

Five years later, his second effort was 2006’s “Little Children,” the steamy affair drama involving Patrick Wilson and Kate Winslet which also scored three Oscar nominations.

Now, fifteen years later, Field finally returns with his third directing effort in the biopic “TAR” starring Cate Blanchett. The film has just released its first trailer yesterday.

The story is set in the international world of classical music and follows Lydia Tar, widely considered one of the greatest living composers/conductors and the first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.

The film opens in cinemas only on October 7th.
