Special Dengue Control Day declared

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Government declared July 25th as a special day for dengue mosquito control.

Accordingly, the staff of Government and Private institutions are expected to identify mosquito-breeding places inside and outside the institution where they work for one hour, destroy them, and plan to keep the environment clean in the future.

The Dengue Control Program is expected to take place at Government and Private institutions, Schools, Construction, Factories, and other establishments.

According to health ministry data over 44,000 Dengue cases were reported so far this year.

Director of the National Dengue Control Program Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said over 8,200 Dengue cases were reported in July.
