(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa said that the group occupying the entrance of the Presidential Secretariat was removed after an operation carried out early this morning.
The media spokesman said that nine people were arrested and nine others were injured and taken to hospital.
Police, Army, and Police Special Task Force officers have jointly carried out this operation
At around 1.30 in the morning, the police and the army entered from the direction of the President’s office and took steps to remove the protestors and the temporary structures built around the site.
Currently, the police and the security forces have occupied the area from in front of the presidential Secretariat to the Galle face protest site and removed all the temporary structures between them.
