Ninety percentage of filling stations inactive due to shortage

(UTV | COLOMBO) – According to the All Ceylon Filling Station Owners Association, about 90% of filling stations have become inactive due to the current fuel shortage.

Its Chairman, W.S. Fernando stated that fuel orders are also not being received properly.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has given 80 orders to transport fuel only for essential services, the Association of Petroleum Private Tankers stated.

Its joint Secretary, Shanta Silva said that the Lanka IOC has given the opportunity to transport fuel to about 150 – 200 filling stations across the country.
