Health Officials to meet on medicine shortage

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A special discussion is scheduled to be held on Thursday (23) with the Provincial Directors of Health Services regarding the shortage of medicines at hospitals.

Secretary to the Ministry of Health Janaka Sri Chandragupta said that discussions will be held with the directors regarding the issues in hospitals and solutions to overcome the medicine shortage.

The discussion will be held this morning via Zoom.

The Secretary said that medicine donations are also being received from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia, and that the activities of hospitals have NOT been disrupted due to the shortage of medicines.

In addition, he says that despite the fuel crisis, all doctors report to work.
