‘Park and Ride’ bus service recommences today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A special transportation plan will be effective in order to enter Colombo as a solution to the fuel issue.

The Ministry of Transport informed that the Sri Lanka Transport Board will once again commence the Park and Ride bus service daily from today (15).

Buses with the ‘Park and Ride’ signs will function between 6:30am and 8am from Makumbura, Kadawatha, and Katubedda and will return to the locations between 4pm and 6pm.

The public can securely leave their vehicles and leave for Colombo.

Buses will leave the destinations every ten minutes in the morning, and when returning, buses will depart every 15 minutes from Colombo.

Private buses will be part of the Park and Ride service.

Meanwhile, a new intercity train from Colombo, Fort to Kandy will be added to the schedule from today due to the high demand.

A new office train will be added to the railway schedule from the Kelani Valley railway line to Colombo.

In addition, a special express luxury train will be launched from Mt. Lavinia to Jaffna over the weekend.
