(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
Strong winds of about 40 kmph can be expected at times in Northern and North-Central provinces and Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
