(UTV | COLOMBO) – Funeral of K.B.Chaminda Lakshan who was shot dead by the police in Rambukkana, will be held today at Naranbedda Hiriwadunna under the Dewalegama Police Division.
The Inspector General of Police has requested the Defense Secretary to assist the three forces to maintain peace in the area until the funeral is completed.
Accordingly, the Armed Forces have been called under Section 12 (1) of the Public Security Act to maintain public order covering the Kegalle District as well.
To date, the troopers have been assisting in maintaining peace in the Devalegama, Rokkana and Kegalle police divisions, the Government Information Department said.
