Mirihana riots: CID confesses to more than 150 people

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police said that the CID has obtained confessions from more than 150 people in connection with the Mirihana protest.

A protest was held in the Mirihana area in Nugegoda on the 31st, blocking the entrance to the President’s residence.

Meanwhile, 21 persons who were arrested in connection with the incident and produced before the Gangodawilla Magistrate’s Court have been released on bail.

The other six have been ordered to remain in custody until April 4th and to be produced at an identification parade on the same day.
