Internet services disrupted by diesel shortages

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Technology has said that there is a problem in getting telephone signals as the power supply has been cut off for several hours in a row.

Ministry Secretary Jayantha de Silva said the situation was due to the lack of diesel to use generators to supply power to the signal towers in the event of a power outage.

He said that due to this, the operation of telephone signal towers will be disrupted and internet services in the respective zones will be disrupted.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to supply diesel to all telephone signal towers, the ministry secretary said.

He said that special software has been developed for this purpose.
