Surgeries at Peradeniya hospital resume

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Director of the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital says routine surgeries at the hospital have resumed after relevant officials had agreed to supply necessary drugs and equipment.

A number of media outlets this morning reported that surgeries at the Peradeniya hospital have been suspended owing to lack of drugs and equipment.

Dr. Arjuna Tillekeratne said however the decision has been reversed following an assurance given by the Medical Supply Division to release necessary anesthetic drugs and other equipment.
