United People’s Power resolution to boycott the All-Party Conference

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The United People’s Power has decided to boycott the All Party Conference to be held on Wednesday (24).

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has called for the conference to address the current financial crisis.

Earlier, the TNA had announced that it would boycott the National People’s Power Conference while announcing its participation in the conference.

Commenting on this, MP Tissa Attanayake said that she had decided to boycott the conference following discussions with party members this morning.

MP Attanayake pointed out that the government was staging media shows instead of providing solutions to the pressing issues facing the people.

He said the government had not taken any meaningful steps to provide relief to the people for the past two years despite full governance.

MP Tissa Attanayake has said that the proposed all-party conference is another attempt by the government to deceive the public and the international community and therefore his party will not attend.
