No price hike for local milk powder

(UTV | COLOMBO) – State Minister, D. B. Herath said NO decisions were made to increase the price of locally manufactured Milk Powder.

State Minister, D. B. Herath said NO decisions were made to increase the price of locally manufactured Milk Powder, despite the increase in imported milk powder products.

He said the relevant divisions have been instructed to take the necessary steps to increase the production of local milk powder.

However, the prices of a milk powder manufactured by the “Pelwatte Dairy Industries Ltd”, have been increased from Sunday (21).

The Milk Powder Importers Association recently increased the price of a 400g packet of imported milk powder by Rs. 250/-.

Accordingly, 400g packet of milk powder price is Rs. 790/-.
