New Fortress Energy to supply LNG for SL as planned

(UTV | COLOMBO) – New Fortress Energy says it took steps to implement the project to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for Sri Lanka as planned.

In a statement issued by the company presenting facts regarding the rejection of the petitions filed against the Yugadanavi Agreement by the Supreme Court, New Fortress Energy said the company and the government of Sri Lanka reached an agreement in September 2021 to build a LNG terminal near Colombo.

It further said New Fortress Energy will also have the right to supply gas to the Kerawalapitiya Power Plant Complex.

Accordingly, the company will initially supply 1.2 million gallons of LNG to the government daily.
