“Govt. should table the IMF report in Parliament”

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today requested the government to present in Parliament the International Monetary Fund report on Sri Lanka.

Speaking in Parliament today, former Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank should table all facts related to state finances including data on foreign reserves.

The former Premier said based on the details, a debate on the matter can be held and find solutions to the prevailing financial crisis.

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe added that if an all-party conference is to be held to discuss the current issues in the country, then they should be in possession of details regarding the finances of the government.

The former Premier is of the view, party leaders, members of Parliament and trade associations should be able to access the IMF report on Sri Lanka.
