Bus operations at crisis amid diesel absence

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Private bus owners claim that the few buses that are in operation, will reduce further today if sufficient diesel is not received.

Chief Secretary of the All Island Private Bus Owners Federation Anjana Priyanjith said they are hopeful that the diesel requirement will be met within the day.

Priyanjith said commuters will be significantly affected if fuel requirements are not met.

He added many buses will not be in operation if diesel is not made available.

He requested the government to prioritise buses that are engaged in passenger transport services when providing diesel.
