(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to a proposal to import 38,500 metric tons of chemical fertilizer to be used by farmers during the Yala season.
The government is planning to import the stock of muriate of potash fertilizer under a competitive international tender process and distribute among farmers under the fertilizer subsidy.
The proposal was submitted to the Cabinet by Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
