(UTV | COLOMBO) – Close to five hour power cuts will be imposed across the island today as well.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka approved a request by the Ceylon Electricity Board to impose power cuts due to the shortage of fuel.
Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Ratnayake said a 4 hour and 40 minute power cut will be imposed in areas designated as A, B, and C while a 4 hour 30 minute power cut will be imposed in other areas.
Areas A, B, and C will experience a power cut between 8:30am and 10:30am.
The nearly five hour long power cuts will be broken down as two hours in the morning and two hours and 40 minutes for those in areas A, B, and C.
All other areas will experience a two hour power cut in the morning and a two hour 30 minutes power cut in the night.
