NO decision taken to increase fuel prices

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The government says a decision was not reached to increase fuel prices during the special Cabinet meeting held yesterday (Feb.22) evening.

A special Cabinet meeting was held yesterday (Feb.22) evening at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The meeting was called to discuss the prevailing energy crisis in the country.

During the meeting, the government also decided to settle Rs.80 billion in debt that is owed by the Ceylon Electricity Board to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
