G.C.E Advanced Level commences

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The GCE Advanced Level examination is scheduled to be held today at 2,438 examination centers islandwide and a total of 345,242 candidates are scheduled to sit for the examination this year.

The Department of Examinations stated that there are 279,141 school candidates and 66,101 private candidates.

Meanwhile, examination centers are functioning in 29 hospitals islandwide for candidates suffering from Kovid.

In addition, the Department of Examinations informs that 316 coordinating centers are in operation.

The Commissioner General of Examinations also stated that all infected candidates are required to reside in these special examination centers and will not have the opportunity to sit for the examination anywhere else.

Candidates who are quarantined during the examination period shall sit for the examination in the special examination hall set up at their respective examination centers mentioned in the examination admission form.

The Commissioner of Examinations also stated that he should inform the Head of the Examination Hall that he is being quarantined.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Examinations requests students who sit for the GCE Advanced Level Examination to sit in the examination hall at 8 am with the examination admission card and identity card.

Two prisoners aged 43 and 46 and a 38-year-old LTTE suspect are scheduled to sit for the GCE Advanced Level examination at the Welikada Prison today.
