(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s Court of Appeal has decided that it would announce an order with regard to granting bail to Attorney-at-Law Hejaaz Hizbullah, on the 7th of February.
The decision was made by Justices Menaka Wijesundara and Neil Iddawela on Wednesday (2).
On the 28th of January, the Puttalam High Court refused to grant bail to detained lawyer Hejaaz Hizbullah.
On 14 April 2020, Hizbullah was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
Hizbullah was being investigated for allegedly “aiding and abetting” the Easter Sunday bombers and for engaging in activities deemed “detrimental to the religious harmony among communities”.
