(UTV | COLOMBO) – The program to install meters in all three-wheelers from the 1st of February, has been postponed until further notice.
The Department of Measurement Units, Standards & Services had taken steps to set up mobile taxi meter service centers and to paste a sticker on approved taxi meters at the Divisional Secretariat level.
The initial phase of the program was scheduled to commence in the Western Province.
Yesterday, the Department advised the public not to purchase fare meters from unlicensed vendors.
The mobile centers were due to be set up at all Divisional Secretariat offices that would operate from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm
