Sapugaskanda Power Plant runs out of Furnace Oil

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Electricity generation at the Sapugaskanda Power Plant has come to a grinding halt, as it has run out of furnace oil.

The Ceylon Electricity Board said it is taking all necessary measures to prevent a possible power outage on Tuesday (18) by using diesel to generate electricity.

The CEB added that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has started delivering 900 MT of fuel to generate electricity.
