Guidelines issued for Saturday’s Scholarship Exam

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Examinations says all preparations are in place for the conduct of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, which will be worked off on Saturday.

Commissioner General of Examinations LMD Dharmasena instructed students to sit the examination without any fear.

The Commissioner-General speaking at a media briefing yesterday said the first paper, which is one hour, will be handed out at 9:30 am and the second paper, which is one hour and 15 minutes, will be handed out at 11 am.

He said 255,062 students will sit the exam in the Sinhala medium and 85,446 students in the Tamil medium at 2,943 examination centres.

Dharmasena said 496 coordinating centres have also been set up while 108 examination centres have been organised to facilitate students who have tested positive for COVID-19.

He noted that supervisors and staff required on the day of the examination have been finalised.

The Commissioner-General also stated that parents will not be allowed inside schools during the examination and requested students be escorted to schools half an hour before the exam.
