(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Supreme Court today postponed the hearing of the Fundamental Rights petitions filed against the agreement to vest 40 percent of shares of the Yugadanavi Power Plant in Kerawalapitiya to US firm New Fortress.
Accordingly, the consideration of the petitions was postponed to the 19th, 20th and, 21st of January.
The petitions were taken up for consideration before a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, justices Achala Wengappuli, and Kumudini Wickremasinghe this morning.
The Supreme Court bench decided to postpone the hearing as judge LTB Dehideniya who is part of the bench that is considering the petitions was not present today.
