Coastal Khmer request investors finish off constructions in Sihanoukville

(UTV | CAMBODIA) – Cambodia’s main coastal city (Sihanoukville) had witnessed a huge influx of Chinese investment and constructions during 2015 and 16, which drove the city’s boom with new apartment buildings and casinos, but this boom stopped in 2019, when more than 100,000 citizens returned.

Chinese people returned home and left behind many unfinished construction projects that littered the city of concrete blocks that distorted the landscape of the city, and since COVID Pandemic is approaching to an end, local Khmers hope that the Chinese will return to Sihanoukville to wrap up the projects they have started in order to restore the beauty and splendour of the city again.
