Justice Ministry to launch ‘Access to Justice’ mobile service

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Justice has taken steps to launch a specialised mobile service named ‘Access to Justice’.

The purpose of this is to facilitate public service provided by the Justice Ministry and institutions under the State Ministry of Prison Reforms and Prison Management.

The mobile service is planned to cover all provinces and will be launched centred in the Northern Province.

Accordingly, awareness programmes for university students, community leaders, and government officials will be held in the Northern Province from the 28th to the 31st of January next year.

The Justice Ministry said the mobile service will also create awareness of laws affecting the general public, to create awareness regarding reconciliation, to educate youth of the ill effects of drug use, and to obtain birth, marriage, and death certificates for land issues in the Northern Province.

Steps have also been taken to educate youth on ways of applying for employment.
