Station Masters to stage indefinite strike action today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association is scheduled to stage an indefinite trade union action from 10 this morning.

They decided to postpone the trade union action which was scheduled to begin at midnight, in order to hold discussion with authorities this morning.

Chairman of the Association Sumedha Somaratne said another discussion will be held this morning following requests made by the Minister of Transport and the State Minister.

Somaratne said however trade union action of suspending the issuance of train tickets and refraining from accepting and transporting parcels will continue.
