(UTV | COLOMBO) – Ben Schwartz joins ‘Renfield’ movie alongside Nicolas Cage, Nicholas Hoult, and Awkwafina
Emmy-winning comedian and actor Ben Schwartz is the latest to join the ensemble cast of the darkly comedic revisionist Dracula take “Renfield” at Universal Pictures and Skybound Entertainment. Nicholas Hoult has been set to star as the title character of R.M. Renfield, an inmate at a lunatic asylum who was thought to be suffering from delusions but is actually a servant of the Transylvanian vampire Count Dracula (Nicolas Cage).
Schwartz will play a mobster in the film and is joined by Hoult, Cage and Awkwafina in this “modern-day adventure story with a comedic tone”. Filming is slated to kick off early next year in New Orleans. The film is directed by Chris McKay (“The Tomorrow War,” “The LEGO Batman Movie”) and penned by Ryan Ridley (“Ghosted,” “Rick and Morty”) from an idea by “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman. Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst produce.
