There will be no further power outages

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge says there will be no further power outages.

The Minister speaking at a media briefing at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna this morning said an agreement was reached with the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Union, the Ceylon Electricity Board Senior Engineers’ Association and the Ceylon Electricity Board Technological Engineers and Superintendent Union, to ensure there will be no power outages.

Minister Gamini Lokuge noted the President held discussions and reached a decision in this regard, and informed the unions of the conditions, to which they agreed.

Minister Lokuge claimed Police are investigating whether the power outage reported during the day was an act of sabotage.

He added power was restored around 7pm and no power outages were reported thereafter.
