COVID vaccination card required for Sri Pada pilgrimage

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Chief Incumbent of the Sri Padastana and Pelmadulla Rajamaha Vihara Ven. Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Thera stated that arrangements are being made to conduct the Sri Pada pilgrimage season this year with the participation of the devotees, subject to health guidelines.

Speaking to the media at a discussion held in Nallathanniya yesterday(30), the Thera said that the pilgrims would be able to enter the Sri Padasthana without any hindrance by bringing the COVID vaccination card.

The Sri Pada pilgrimage season begins on the full moon day of Unduwap (December) ​​every year and continues until the full moon day of Vesak next year.

During that time, a large number of local and foreign devotees, irrespective of race, religion or caste, visit Sri Pada on a regular basis every year.
