Launching first-ever dialysis centre in Deir ez-Zur that offers free treatment

(UTV | SYRIA) – Amid a surging number of patients and hefty costs of treatments in Al-Hasakah, Damascus, and Ar Raqqah, Sawsan Association launched a dialysis centre in Al Kasrah -Deir ez-Zur.

The region was in dire need of the centre, given the fact that patients were coerced into going for arduous trips to reach those remote centres.

Treatment, medications, as well as medical tests, are all free of charge at the new centre. Moreover, the centre operates five kidney dialysis machines, receiving about 45 patients a day, with at least 15 dialysis treatment sessions a day.

It is worth mentioning that Deir ez-Zur runs no medical facilities. This is coupled with disastrous living conditions.
