(UTV | COLOMBO) – State Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna today informed Parliament that he will receive the laboratory report on the composition of LP gas cylinders at 5 this evening.
The State Minister said a report was called via the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation after obtaining samples from both LP gas suppliers, to probe incidents of gas explosions that have been reported around the island.
Opposition MPs drew the government’s attention to six incidents of domestic gas cylinder explosions in the past few days and the threat the public is faced with due to such explosions.
The Parliamentarians called for immediate action to address the unsafe situation created as a result of the domestic gas cylinders.
