Kinniya ferry tragedy : Civil society organizations call for a day of mourning

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Trincomalee – Civil society organizations have decided to close shops in Kinniya today to mourn the tragic death of six people when the ferry capsized in the Kurinchakarni area in the Kinniya Lagoon.

Six people, including four children, were killed when a ferry capsized in the Kurinchakarni area in the Kinniya Lagoon yesterday.

Meanwhile, the owner and three others arrested in connection with the incident have been remanded until the 8th of next month.

They were produced before the Trincomalee Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
