Hazaras apply for asylum in Mongolia

(UTV | MONGOLIA) – The Taliban’s policy of ethnic cleansing has led to a significant increase in the number of refugees leaving Afghanistan as the Hazara Mongol ethnic group that live in Afghanistan, have begun to ask for refuge in Mongolia, most recently through the World Council of Hazaras, which has requested temporary shelter in Mongolia for 300 to 1,000 Hazaras with international aid.

Human rights activists of Mongolia have also started a movement to welcome Hazaras who are being persecuted and abused in many ways in Afghanistan.

The Hazara Mongols are a Mongolian ethnic group that has lived in Afghanistan since prehistoric times.
