Public Transport will Resume Next Week

(UTV | COLOMBO) – State Minister Dilum Amunugama said public transport will resume from the 1st of November under the usual timetable.

The State Minister said trains will operate for those with season tickets with the objective of reducing commuters to 50 percent.

He added buses are largely abiding by the regulation to commute passengers according to the number of seats.

The State Minister said trains however cannot limit commuters as a majority travel standing owing to the limited number of seats.

Speaking to media in Kandy the State Minister requested principals to inform respective depots if the Sisu Seriya bus service will not be required.
