Water cuts imposed in several areas

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The water supply to several areas in the Kalutara District will be suspended for ten hours from 09:00 a.m. today (28) due to essential improvements of the Aluthgama Matugama Agalawatta Integrated Water Supply Project.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced that the water supply to Beruwala, Aluthgama, Dharganagara, Benthara, and Kaluwamodara will be suspended.

In addition, the water cut will be extended to Pilaminawatte, Bombuwala, Payagala, and Maggona areas from 8:00 a.m. on 29 October until 2:00 a.m. on 30 October.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has issued a special notice regarding the suspension of essential water supply.

Accordingly, due to an urgent improvement in the Kandy Municipal Council’s water supply system, the water supply will be suspended for 24 hours from 12:00 p.m. on 29 October until 12:00 p.m. on 30 October.

Areas affected by this temporary water cut include Meekanuwa, Pattiya Kele, Pahalatenne Kumbura, Dambawela, Ampitiya, Thalathuoya, Ketawala, Lewla, Nahiniwela, Godampitiya and Tennekumbura.
