(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 43 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours ending at 6 this morning on charges of violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly, a total of 81,396 persons have been arrested for violation of quarantine laws since October last year.
Police said 1,229 persons entering the Western Province and 864 persons leaving the province were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the province yesterday.
270 persons, travelling without a valid reason, were turned back at the checkpoints.
