Sri Lanka’s first Test Captain passes away

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s first Test Captain Bandula Warnapura has passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.

Bandula Warnapura, the first captain of the Sri Lanka Test cricket team was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo due to a sudden heart attack and was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.

Hospital sources stated that the doctors were compelled to amputate his right leg.

According to hospital sources, he was not suffering from Covid-19 but had several health complications due to a neglected wound.

The 68-year-old former cricket captain was hospitalized due to a heart attack on the morning of 6 October.
