Teacher-principal unions to meet PM

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to eliminate the salary anomaly of teachers and principals in three stages.

Meanwhile, the Teacher-Principal Trade Union Alliance is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister today (12) regarding the issue of salary anomalies.

The Teacher-Principal Trade Unions have been formed over the issue of salary anomalies, and it is now three months since the teachers withdrew from online tutoring.

It is stated that at the Cabinet meeting held last night at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, it has been decided to include the new proposal to eliminate teacher salary anomalies in the budget to be presented to Parliament on 12 November.

Meanwhile, the Teacher-Principal Trade Union Alliance is scheduled to hold a special discussion with the Prime Minister at Temple Trees this afternoon to discuss the issue of salary anomalies.

Members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to look into the issue of salary anomalies will also participate in this discussion.
